Pilgrimage

多種多様な森を巡る旅。フィールドワークを通して、自然とアウトドアの関係性を再考するプロジェクト。

今回訪れたのは、富士の麓に広がる青木ヶ原樹海。

溶岩の大地の上に広がるこの若い森は、苔や植物が互いに支え合いながら独自の生態系を形成しています。

その森の中で撮影した風景をもとに、オリジナルの森林テキスタイルを制作。

植物作家とのコラボレーションによって、森の荘厳さと生命力を表現したグラフィックへと昇華しました。

完成したタープは、自然の中に溶け込むような存在でありながら、森の風景そのものを携えるプロダクトです。

自然を「外側から楽しむもの」ではなく、その一部として存在するためのアウトドアプロダクト。

Pilgrimageは、森を巡る旅の中で生まれる視点や体験を、プロダクトとして形にしていきます。

Textile

この高解像度の森林写真をナイロン生地へプリントするため、スイスの老舗テキスタイルメーカー Schoeller Textil AG と共同でオリジナル生地を開発。

ナイロン100%でありながら、実際の森の情景をそのまま映し出すような高精細プリントを実現しました。

Schoellerは1867年創業のテキスタイルメーカーであり、革新的な機能素材と高度な加工技術で世界中のスポーツアパレルブランドから評価されています。

また環境配慮型の生産体制を重視しており、多くの製品が Bluesign 認証を取得しています。

Function

タープにはリップストップナイロンを採用。格子状に織り込まれた高強度構造により、ほつれや破れに強い耐久性を持ちます。

またSchoellerの撥水加工により、JIS撥水試験で最高ランクとなる撥水5級を取得。総柄プリントのタープでありながら、アウトドアでの実用性を兼ね備えています。

総重量は約470g。片手で持ち運べる軽さを実現しました。

主要6箇所にはハトメとループを設け、様々な張り方に対応します。

Aokigahara Forest

青木ヶ原樹海は、1150年前の噴火によって生まれた若い森です。

溶岩の上には平均わずか3cmほどの土壌しかなく、地表には露出した根や隆起した溶岩が広がります。

湿った海風によって苔が育ち、その保水力によって森が形成される独特の生態系を持つ場所です。

神秘的で少し不穏な印象を持たれることもある森ですが、実際には植物が力強く繁茂し、濃密な緑に満ちた生命力のある場所でもあります。

Pilgrimage

A journey through diverse forests.

Pilgrimage is a project that revisits the relationship between nature and the outdoors through fieldwork in various forests.

For this edition, we traveled to Aokigahara Forest, located at the foot of Mount Fuji.Photographs were taken within the forest landscape and later used as the foundation for an original textile.

Using this fabric, we created a graphical tarp designed to visually merge with the surrounding natural environment.

The graphic is based on plants and forest scenes encountered while walking through Aokigahara.Color was introduced in collaboration with plant artist Tatsunosuke Murano, transforming the imagery into a forest graphic that carries both the solemn atmosphere of the woods and a subtle sense of vibrancy.

From inside the tarp, one can also experience the surrounding forest-like scenery through the all-over print, creating the feeling of being enveloped by the landscape itself.

Textile

To reproduce these high-resolution forest photographs on nylon fabric, we developed an original textile in collaboration with the Swiss textile manufacturer Schoeller Textil AG.

Despite being made from 100% nylon, the fabric achieves a highly detailed print that captures the atmosphere of the forest with remarkable clarity.

Founded in 1867, Schoeller is known worldwide for its innovative functional textiles and advanced processing technologies, and its materials are widely used by leading sportswear brands.

The company also places strong emphasis on environmentally responsible production, with many of its products certified by bluesign.

Function

The tarp uses ripstop nylon, a high-strength grid-woven fabric that provides excellent resistance against tearing and fraying.

It is finished with Schoeller’s water-repellent treatment, achieving Level 5, the highest rating in the JIS water-repellency test.

Despite the all-over graphic print, the tarp maintains practical functionality for outdoor use.

Total weight is approximately 470g, making it lightweight enough to carry comfortably with one hand.

Six reinforced points are equipped with grommets and loops, allowing for multiple pitching configurations.

Aokigahara Forest

Aokigahara Forest is a relatively young forest formed by the Jogan eruption of Mount Fuji approximately 1,150 years ago.

The soil above the lava bed averages only about 3 cm in depth, and exposed roots and volcanic rock formations dominate the forest floor.

Moist ocean winds encourage moss growth, and the moss retains water that supports the forest’s development, creating a unique ecosystem.

While the forest is often perceived as mysterious or even unsettling, it is in reality a place of remarkable vitality, where dense vegetation grows vigorously and deep green life fills the landscape.
